These terms govern your use of artofthestart.com ("Art of the Startup," "we," "us"), operated by Snake River Strategies. By using the site or purchasing a directory listing, you agree to them.

1. The site and its content

Art of the Startup is an independent publication. Content is provided for general information only and is not business, legal, financial, or investment advice. We may change, remove, or update any content at any time. Some articles contain affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure).

2. Directory listings - paid submissions

Our directories (AI tools, company profiles, and founder profiles) offer reviewed listings for a one-time fee of $19.99 per submission. By purchasing a submission you agree to the following:

What you get. One professionally written listing or profile for one AI tool, company, or individual, generated by our editorial writing pipeline from the information you provide, published at a URL on artofthestart.com after you approve a preview.

No edits included. The submission fee covers the writing and publication of one listing. It does not include post-approval edits, revisions, updates, or refreshes. Before you approve, you may send the draft back with additional or corrected information and we will regenerate it; once you approve and the listing is published, further changes are not included in the fee.

Editorial control. Listings are written in our voice and format. We decide final wording, structure, and presentation. We do not publish claims we cannot reasonably verify from your submission or your public website, and we may decline or remove submissions that are unlawful, deceptive, harmful, adult, or that misrepresent what the tool does. If we decline your submission before publication, we will refund the fee in full. Fees are otherwise non-refundable once a listing is published.

Your responsibilities. You confirm that you are authorized to make the submission (for founder profiles, that you are the person profiled or their authorized representative), that the information you provide is accurate and not misleading, and that you have the rights to any logo or image URL you supply. You grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual license to publish and display the submitted information and assets as part of the listing.

Not an endorsement. A directory listing is a paid, reviewed submission. It is not a ranking, award, or endorsement by Art of the Startup, and listings are labeled accordingly.

Timing. Draft previews are typically ready within one business day of payment, and approved listings are reviewed and published promptly after approval. These are targets, not guarantees.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Applicable taxes, if any, are your responsibility.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the site to submit malware links, scrape at abusive rates, attempt to bypass the submission review process, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

5. Disclaimers and liability

The site and all listings are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of any directory submission is limited to the amount you paid for that submission, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. We are not responsible for the tools listed in the directory, their availability, pricing, or performance.

6. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
