About Wendy Carver-Herbert

Wendy Carver-Herbert – Garden City Council Candidate

Wendy Carver-Herbert is running for Garden City Council with a commitment to responsible growth, community engagement, and practical solutions that reflect the values of local residents. Her candidacy for Garden City Council builds on decades of leadership experience in both the corporate world and nonprofit organizations, paired with deep involvement in Garden City’s civic life.

Wendy brings a strong professional background to her campaign. She worked as an executive and consultant across the financial services, real estate, and telecommunications industries before starting her own business advising organizations and nonprofits. That experience taught her how to analyze complex issues, balance budgets, and make strategic decisions—skills she now applies to the challenges facing Garden City.

Her service in Idaho government includes six sessions as a non-partisan staff member in the Idaho House of Representatives, where she worked on committees dealing with judiciary, commerce, energy, and taxation. Wendy has also contributed at the local level as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Garden City Public Library Foundation, a board member for the Garden City Early Learning Collaborative, and a leader of Ready for Kindergarten workshops that help parents prepare children for long-term success.

Beyond her professional and civic work, Wendy Carver-Herbert has a long record of community service. She served on the Garden City Boise River Overlay Advisory Committee, volunteered as a hospice caregiver, and held leadership roles with senior living nonprofits. Her focus has consistently been on strengthening community resources and ensuring local families have access to the tools they need.

Wendy and her husband of more than 37 years are proud to call Garden City their permanent home. They are parents, grandparents, and active community members who share their home with a Dalmatian. Her husband volunteers with the Garden City Police Department, underscoring their shared commitment to public service.

As a Garden City Council candidate, Wendy Carver-Herbert is focused on keeping the city livable, welcoming, and financially stable. Her campaign emphasizes transparency, smart land use, and the belief that local government should serve residents first.
