About Brad Doty

Brad Doty is a lifelong public servant with nearly three decades of experience in law enforcement and community leadership. Originally from Kamiah, Idaho, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at just 17 years old before beginning a distinguished 29-year career in law enforcement. Doty served with the Lewis County and Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Offices before joining the Idaho State Police, where he rose through the ranks to become a Major. His career included leadership roles as patrol sergeant, lieutenant, alcohol beverage control bureau chief, and northern area commander.

Among his most notable assignments was overseeing the investigation of the Idaho College Murders, where his leadership contributed to delivering justice and closure for families. Doty also graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, strengthening his expertise in leadership and fiscal responsibility.

In 2021, Doty was elected to the Caldwell City Council, where he currently serves as Council President. In this role, he has focused on maintaining public safety, managing taxpayer dollars responsibly, and ensuring Caldwell continues to provide quality services and amenities during a period of rapid growth.
